This piece has been the funnest to do out of all the pieces Ive done. It is a brass heart with the aquarius symbol on top of it with etching of small lines on each piece. The difficult parts was making the ring even so that it stood up by itself. The filing and sawing was pretty easy and the etching was a cool new experience. I wish I could've took more of the patina of the middle of thew heart because it was hard to get to, but besides that, I felt satisfied with this piece.
The process of this ring was much more simple than the necklace. The sawing was more efficient because the copper metal was very soft compared to the metal of the necklace. There was less metal to sand and file which was nice and the soldering was the coolest step I've done so far. The challenge I encountered was the soldering of the small diamond onto the M. The flame tended to blow the piece off of its place and bringing it back to to center with the flame going was hard. I enjoyed working with fire because it was different and something I learned during this process was that working with metal has been handled more comfortably. I challenged myself with the petite pieces I used and I wish the middle piece would be more centered and not crooked like it is.
